Lexis Rex - GermanStart exploring our games, exercises and resources for German. The menu below is divided between Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced sections to suit all levels. You can check your progress on scoring vocabulary games with the percentage shown on the menu items, or visit the Scoring page below for other statistics and progress charts. Subscibe below to get daily email reports for a record of your progress.
The Beginner's menu will lead you through small sets of vocabulary to start out learning German, with a variety of games available to learn the words. Start by reviewing the words for Set 1 under the Word Sets menu, learn a few of the words, then play the games to start building your score. We recommend trying the daily crossword, even if you know very few words, it's a fun way to pick up new words and start watching your vocabulary grow.
The Intermediate section expands on the vocabulary and divides words into categories. The same games are available to help you learn them. Click on Vocabulary Sets to focus on a single category at a time. The Intermediate section also has a harder crossword and introduces some helpful phrases and verb conjugations to learn
The Advanced section will lead you through our Progressive games to work your way through an extensive vocabulary from the most common to advanced words. This section also has a crossword for more advanced users and 3 games to help your learn the structure of German sentences.
The Resources menu has various other pages you may find useful when studying German.
The user section is tailored to your usage of this site. Go to the Settings page to note your automatically generated user id. This is all you need to keep track of your activity on Lexis Rex. You can enter it on other devices to synchronise your scores. If you lose it you may lose all your scoring, so please note it down somewhere.
